Poem for Summer

i.

Under the baseball dusk I drive and become the pink, purple, blue;
remember the order in the sky of my mind,
it's important.

Moving straight and fast in the cool,
air my skin is carbonated.
Like the sweet baseball bleachers cooking under
a yellow elementary sun.

Is it a mood? A surrounding water that is summer that works on me,
like a roller-coaster.
There is nothing concrete about it.

Caddyshack as the Socioeconomic Picture of Bergeoning Deindustrialization in America

THE genius of Caddyshack goes beyond the apparent class divides it portrays. It's show of old v. new money creates a new space for which more modern irreverent comedy can exist. The hat scene is a straightforward acknowledgment of the movement the movie as a whole operates as.

Can I get a Minute

I don't know where this is from. I also can't provide you with any context, this picture made me forget how to read. I'm shocked I'm able to even write right now.

"Modern prizefighting is a remarkable metaphor for the philosophical and social condition of men (and sometimes, women)in modern mass society. Launched in eighteenth-century England, largely as a way of upper-class betting men to amuse themselves at the expense of lower-class ruffians, prize-fighting was created in anticipation of mass industrialized society, where it has flourished as a sport and, even more startlingly, as an aesthetic: namely, to watch without seeing. The prizefighter enacts a drama of poor taste (but not of absurdity, as the modern professional wrestler does) that is in truth nothing more than an expression of resentment or a pantomime of rebellion totally devoid of any political context except ritualized male anger turned into a voyeuristic fetish" (xiv)

FOR SUMMER

I want one of those seventies bra's. One of the ones that look like they're made just of fabric. You know where you've seen them, any movie made about young adults and summer camp between the years 1976-1989.

I miss you Blogger

Tumblr is weird and scary and everyone just says "Fuck Yeah" all of the time. AND whenever I write something I feel guilty, like I should be posting a picture instead. I don't like that. I like Blogger.
